Google Adwords Fundamentals | Basic Terms of Google Ads

Today, i will discuss about the fundamentals of Google Adwords or Google Ads. Example: What is Average CPC, Max. CPC and the terms which are related to Google Platform.

The above one is Google Adwords new Logo which will be now Google Ads from 24th July. The terms which we will discuss:-



1. SERP (Search Engine Result Page): This is the page where search/text ads will appear after performing a search on any browser like Google.com, Bing.com and many more



2. CPC/PPC/Bid/Default Bid/Max. CPC: This is the amount that you are willing to pay to Google and Google will charge for clicks and not for impressions.

3. Actual CPC: This is the amount what Google will charge for a particular click.

4. Average CPC: This is the average amount for a number of clicks.

5. Quality Score: This score is only for Search Campaigns. It varies from 1 to 10.

6. Ad Rank: It is the product of Max. CPC and Quality Score which is responsible for you Ad Position as well.

7. Average Position: It shows the position where your Ad appears in any Search Engine.

8. Impression: When anyone sees your ad on the search engine, it counts an impression.

9. CTR (Click through Rate): It is the ratio of Click to Impressions into 100.

10. CPM (Cost Per Thousand Impression): It is basically used for Display Campaigns. 1 CPM = 1000 Impressions for which Google charges 40 - 50 INR

11. Conversion: This shows how many conversion you get which means somebody successfully filled up your lead form/sign up/buy the product, it depends on your business, what is your goal

12. Cost Per Conversion: It is the cost of one conversion, which is calculated by dividing the cost by the total number of cost.

13. Conversion Rate: It is the number of conversions divided by total clicks

14. Keywords: Words or phrases which are used to show your ads on a search engine, when customers search for those terms or visit websites.

15. CPA (Cost-per-acquisition): It is the amount which googles charge for a particular conversion— you'll want to use CPA bidding

16. PLA (Product Listing Ads): These are the ads which are related to e-commerce industry, basically these are the shopping ads.

17. Gmail Ads: These are the ads which can be seen in Gmail.
