Google Killing Off DoubleClick, AdWords Names to Rebrand it's Ad Products

Google is retiring its two most valuable advertising brand names - AdWords & DoubleClick - to rebrand it's Advertising Products.

The new Google ad schema will comprise three main pillars, with the rebranded suite to begin rolling out on 24 July: Google Ads, Google Marketing Platform and Google Ad Manager.

AdWords, which started as a search-based ad system in 2000, is being renamed simply Google Ads. The products from DoubleClick, the ad network Google bought in 2008, are becoming part of the two most important product groups: The new Google Marketing Platform merges DoubleClick Digital Marketing & the Google Analytics 360 Suite; Google Ad Manager is the new name for programmatic advertising platform that merges DoubleClick for Publishers and DoubleClick Ad Exchange.

Over the years, the advertising platform provided by Google has grown very rapidly, which starts with the only search but now it has a display, video, shopping and UAP (Universal App Campaigns) and many more features and it's unbelievable marketing strategy.

“With Google Ads as opposed to Google AdWords, it is moving the imperceptible default opinion that you get as an advertiser when you hear ‘Google AdWords’ … you think, ‘Oh, Words. And so, Google Ads, in our opinion, is a much more straightforward representation of what Google advertising can provide. It’s that simplicity and alignment of the core message from the first instant you hear the name, which is the goal.”
